The foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people in Linn County, IA by responding to changing social, economic, and cultural needs. Primary areas of interest include the arts, higher education, social services, community funds, and health care. Support also for cultural programs, including fine and performing art groups, youth agencies, and health services.
City of Mount Vernon for wellness center, $500,000; Linn County Historical society, for rehabilitation of Douglas Mansion, $250,000.

Application should include a brief description of the organization including its legal name, history, activities, purpose and governing board, the purpose for which the grant is requested, the amount requested, and a list of other sources of financial support. A copy of the organization's most recent audited financial statements, a copy of the IRS determination letter indicating 501c3 tax-exempt status, a copy of the organization's form 990 income tax return.
The foundation does not make grants to individuals. Grants are ordinarily confined to nonprofit, public tax-exempt organizations located in Linn County, IA
