Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is once again offering the Nonprofit Management Academy. LAWINRC Director Paul Thelen will conduct the first of the series of courses on June 12. His course is Embracing Advocacy: How Your Organization Can Effectively Influence Public Opinion & Public Policy and will cover many of the rules that govern nonprofit advocacy, including lobbying activities.
The Academy courses meet at the Johnson County Extension Office, 3109 Old Highway 218 South in Iowa City. All meet on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fee for each is $70 with CEU credit for an additional $25. Participants may take individual courses or may complete a combination of them to obtain a Certificate in Nonprofit Management. See details, registration, and additional course descriptions.
