Chrysalis invests in the safety, security, education, and economic empowerment of girls and women in greater Des Moines.

The Clarinda Foundation envisions a successful locale made up of safe, thriving, and diverse people, supported by a strong and active charitable sector that is essential to our quality of life and motivates public involvement through philanthropy. 

Grants are only given to governmental, public charitable, or educational institutions for free public benefit.

The income earned on the Foundation's assets will be used as contributions to further serve educational, charitable, cultural and religious purposes; specifically given to qualifying public charities under section 501(c)(3).

The foundation supports organizations involved with education, job creation and job training, housing, human services, and economic development.

Our funding priorities are STEM education for K-12 youth and domestic violence education and prevention for youth, women and older adults.

The foundation supports organizations involved with arts and culture, education, and human services. Special emphasis is directed toward programs designed to benefit low- and moderate- income individuals.
