Grant Information
UHCCF’s mission is to significantly enhance the clinical condition or quality of life of children covered under a commercial health insurance plan and who are 16 years old or younger living in the regions where UnitedHealthcare does business in the United States. The foundation shall endeavor to help pay for services or items that have the potential to significantly enhance either the clinical condition or the quality of life of the child and that are not fully covered by the available commercial health insurance.
More than 3,000 applicants received more than $3 million in 2018.
- A $2,550 grant to help pay for hearing aids for an eleven year-old boy with profound sensorineural hearing loss.
- A $1,000 grant to help pay for speech therapy for a six year-old girl with cerebral palsy.
- A $3,400 grant to help pay for dental/orthodontic treatment for a six year-old girl with cleft lip and palate.

If a grant is awarded, grants can vary considerably based on availability of grant funds, the severity and cost/ insurance coverage of the child’s medical condition compared to other similar applicants’ conditions or other factors that the Foundation deems appropriate.
