Grantmaking activities of the Carver Trust focus on the broad program areas of youth, education and medical and scientific research. The organization seeks to promote the welfare of Iowa's youth, especially those confronting obstacles in seeking an education, and to advance knowledge and improve human health through the support of biomedical and scientific research.

Submit a written or electric letter of inquiry before submission of a formal request. Include the following information:
- A brief background of your organization
- Description of the project, what it is designed to achieve, and how it will be accomplished.
- A proposed budget for the total cost of the project and the amount you intend to request from the trust
- A statement describing why participation of the Carver Trust is vital to the success of the project
- Indicate history with the trust.
