Biography

Diane DeBok is Editor and Content Manager at the LAWINRC. She provides web support, manages the Register of Accountability, the Iowa Grants Guide, and social media. She also lays out publications for the center and coordinates their printing with University Printing Services. Diane has a BA in English from Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa and an MFA in nonfiction writing from the University of Iowa.

History Rolls On at the Gilbertville Depot

In 2012, the Friends of the Gilbertville Depot achieved their mission to save their historic depot. Since then, as Dick Dewater explained in this interview, they have preserved and improved the depot, once a stop on the Waterloo Cedar Falls & Northern Railway (WCF&N). Now, the area is part of the Cedar Valley Nature Trail, one of the oldest recreational trails in Iowa.
