Courage Ride 2025

Description

The Courage Ride is excited to hold its 21st annual bike ride Saturday, August 9th to support sarcoma cancer research at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. All proceeds from Courage Ride go to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center Sarcoma Research Program. We welcome riders for a safe, in-person event and continue to offer a virtual ride option to those who wish to participate but cannot join us in-person. The Courage Ride offers multiple route options for cyclists of all levels and includes rest stops, SAG support, snacks, food and entertainment. Over 500 participate annually. Our virtual ride option allows riders to participate whenever they want from anywhere in the world. Sarcoma is a rare cancer comprising less than 1% of all adult cancers and 21% of childhood cancers. Over 13,000 cases are diagnosed each year in the United States and over 5,000 are expected to die from sarcoma cancer. Though very aggressive and difficult to treat, many survive. More research is needed to find better treatment options and eventually a cure. Our fundraising goal for 2025 is $80,000.

The ride begins and ends at Big Grove Brewery in Iowa City.
