Attorneys as Nonprofit Board Members

Description

Program Description: This program will examine the unique opportunities and challenges attorneys encounter when serving on nonprofit boards. Panelists will analyze fiduciary duties under the Revised Iowa Nonprofit Corporation Act, the interplay between professional conduct rules and board service, and common ethical considerations such as competence, confidentiality, and conflicts of interest. Using real-world scenarios, the discussion will explore strategies for identifying, managing, and resolving potential issues while maintaining compliance with both corporate and professional obligations. An interactive Q&A will conclude the program.
