Understanding the Impact of Recent Executive Orders on Iowa’s Nonprofit Sector

The relationship between government and Iowa’s for-purpose sector is vital, especially when public services are financed by government and delivered by nonprofits. Recent executive orders have prompted many in our sector to seek guidance on how these changes may affect nonprofit operations and community outcomes. We believe that both policymakers and the public are gaining a deeper understanding of this essential partnership—a partnership critical to building healthy, vibrant communities. To support informed decision-making, we’re sharing this resource from the National Council of Nonprofits that provides insights you may find helpful.

Nonprofit Salary & Benefits Survey Available

“One of the frequent requests we receive at our Center is data on nonprofit salaries and benefits,” said LAWINRC director Paul Thelen. “In collaboration with the Iowa Nonprofit Alliance, we are excited to offer our first statewide Salary & Benefits Survey Report for 2024. It includes responses from over 300 nonprofit entities in Iowa. In addition, we partnered with the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands to include over 300 responses from across Nebraska. Together, this regional report will offer valuable information and insight to nonprofit leaders from across our two great states.”
