Simple Answers for Big Dumb Questions
Event Category

Admission
Free for EIPGC members; $25 for non-members

Someone says, “This may be a dumb question, but…” and the presenter graciously replies, “There’s no such thing as a dumb question,” before providing the obvious answer.  But then, maybe just to yourself, you have to admit you were wondering about the same thing. Our donors and clients have plenty of questions, but they may be too intimidated to ask.  So, they search the internet for answers.  Sometimes they stumble upon good information, but often not.

In this session we’ll consider some of those questions such as:

  • What’s a beneficiary designation and how do I make one?
  • Does the charitable deduction actually save me money?
  • I don’t have any RMDs, so why would I consider a QCD gift?
  • What’s an endowment and how does that work?
  • Why would a charity pursue planned gifts at all?

We’ll explore plain and simple answers and explore how we can do a better job of serving our donors by anticipating their questions.
