*Restructuring Initiative--Strategic Conversations and Relationships: Session 1
Event Category

This is the first in a three-part series with Doug Sauer and local leaders. This session provides an overview of the mission and sustainability challenges facing Nebraska nonprofits in today’s environment and the emerging opportunities for integration and restructuring strategies to be considered as responsive and responsible solutions. What these solutions are (legally and practically), the terminology commonly used, and the myths and pros and cons of each option will be covered.

Each session in the series meets 9:00-10:30 am. Attendance at all three sessions is not required but is encouraged as those who do not attend the first session will be at a learning disadvantage. The sessions will examine readiness, phased processes, negotiating tips and forms associated with shared services, mergers, affiliations, acquisitions, and possibly even dignified dissolution. Registration is free for all attendees. Recordings will be available to NAM members only.

The remaining sessions are also on Thursdays at 9:00 am. Dates are April 25 and May 23.

Doug Sauer is a nonprofit expert who has helped thousands of nonprofits of all missions and circumstances with their capacity-building needs. Doug is the former CEO of the New York Council of Nonprofits (NYCON) for more than 40 years and a nationally recognized nonprofit leader. Doug has been recognized by the NonProfit Times as one of the top 50 leaders of power and influence.
