Liana Meffert, MD, will explore the dynamic relationship between creative expression, medical practices, and social sciences. An emergency medicine resident at Georgetown Medical School in Washington, D.C. Dr. Meffert received her medical degree from the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. Her work has been published in JAMA, Medscape, and The Healing Muse. She is a recipient of Stanford's Irvin David Yalom Literary Award. A reception will follow.
It is hoped that this will be the first in a series of events that highlight and explore topics at the intersection of healthcare and the humanities.
