The University of Iowa

Grant Management Training
Event Category

Volunteer Iowa is hosting a free, one-day training open to staff, board members, volunteers, and national service members of organizations who want to become better skilled at preparing for and managing state and federal grant opportunities. (This is the same as the March 19 presentation in Sioux City.)

This training will focus on key concepts such as:

  • Evaluating the grant opportunity
  • Preparing your organization to apply
  • Understanding the award and negotiating final terms
  • Performing the work of the grant
  • Handling the administrative requirements
  • Properly closing out the grant and planning for sustainability

The trainer will engage participants in hands-on activities and Volunteer Iowa staff will present on upcoming funding opportunities through our agency.

Session is 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Lunch is not provided. There will be a one-hour break for lunch on your own.

Register by noon on Monday, May 13. Registration is requested so that presenters can prepare handouts.
