Nonprofit boards need strong skills and a thorough understanding of their role to serve effectively. In this interactive series, we cover the most important aspects of board governance. Board Masters was created for current and potential board members who want to learn how to better serve nonprofit organizations, regardless of if they are veteran board members with years of experience or are new to board service. At the end of this training, you will be able to describe how effective boards function, tackle the essential tasks of nonprofit board members, and create a plan of action to address opportunities to improve.

This is a series of meetings taking place December 4-8 from noon to 1:00 pm. each day. Participants must attend all five days of the training. Discounts or refunds for partial attendance will not be given.

Board Masters is intended for current and potential board members who:

  • Want to better understand the role of a nonprofit board
  • Want to be a better board member.
  • Want to learn about nonprofit governance
  • Wonder whether their board is fulfilling its role
  • Despite their passion for the organization, are feeling disengaged and/or untapped as a board member

Board Masters is suitable for organizations big and small, regardless of mission focus. To get the maximum benefit of this training, we strongly encourage at least one board member and one senior-level staff member attend together.
