Guardian Scholars Foundation

Iowa Grocery Industry Association

The Association works to promote the general welfare and prosperity of its members by providing educational opportunities, legislative support, networking opportunities, and philanthropic programs.

The Build with Bags program is a grant program to aid parks and schools in purchasing products made of recycled plastic bags. The products consist of park benches, picnic tables, and other outdoor items. The program's goal is to reduce the use of plastic bags, encourage use of reusable bags, and increase the recycling of plastic bags. Awards range from $800 to $2000. American Legion of Iowa Foundation

To provide financial assistance to promote youth programs, veterans rehabilitation, and community service in the state of Iowa. Provides scholarships and makes donations to charities.

Application Deadline 

The selection criteria for grants and awards are determined during the foundation's annual meeting in May. The foundation sends letters to all applicants to let them know whether or not they were selected. Organizations are informed that the money is to be used according to the purpose in the application. Awardees typically follow up with information regarding the completed project.
