The Retirement Research Foundation (RRF) is accepting applications for Projects in Aging until May 1, 2018. Chicago-based RRF is devoted exclusively to aging and retirement issues and makes awards to innovative projects that benefit older Americans. The next application deadline for the RRF is August 1. RRF will accept 1-2 page Letters of Inquiry until June 15. Iowa is one of seven states from which proposals for direct service projects are considered by the RRF. Grant Writing Boot Camp Express is a one-day course scheduled for May 17 at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs. Dr. Beverly A. Browning, author of Grant Writing for Dummies and other publications related to grant writing, is the instructor. CEU credits are available. Details and registration information.

The IRS has announced three revisions to the 1023-EZ form. A text box has been added to Part III for a brief description of the organization’s mission or significant activities. Questions about annual gross receipts, total assets, and public charity classification are now on the form. Question 29 now requires that an automatically revoked organization applying for reinstatement must seek the same foundation classification as at the time of automatic revocation to be eligible to use the form.
