The Iowa Principles and Practices for Charitable Nonprofit Excellence

Download the 2016 Iowa Principles and Practices

The 2016 edition of the Principles and Practices clarifies management practices, ethical conduct, and public accountability. A valuable resource for charitable organizations, the guidelines help Iowa nonprofits improve their ability to provide services. The Principles and Practices are the product of an effort by the Governor's Nonprofit Task Force which was formed in 2004 by then-governor Thomas Vilsack and chaired by Dr. Willard "Sandy" Boyd. The task force included the Secretary of State's office and other partners who promote standards for nonprofit organizations in Iowa.
